Description
BTMS-25 is behentrimonium methosulfate and cetearyl alcohol emulsifier. BTMS-25 contains 25% behentrimonium methosulfate (BTMS). It is a natural conditioning emulsifier derived from Colza oil.
Used in hair care as an emulsifier, conditioner, and frizz reducer. It provides excellent deposition on both hair and skin and is used in shampoos, conditioners, wash-off systems, creams and lotions.
BTMS-25 gives creams and lotions a lovely powdery, soft feel, and will emulsify high levels of silicones.
BTMS-25 versus BTMS-50. What's the difference?
BTMS-25 is Cetearyl Alcohol and Behentrimonium Methosulfate. BTMS-25 contains 25% BTMS (Behentrimonium Methosulfate).
BTMS-50 also contains 50% Behentrimonium Methosulfate. It does not have Cetearyl Alcohol and instead has Cetyl Alcohol and Behenyl Alcohol. BTMS-50 is a premium conditioning emulsifier, yielding top quality products with outstanding detangling and wet comb properties, which is why Wixy Soap uses this in their shampoo bars and kits.- BTMS-25 can be substituted for BTMS-50 in conditioners but you may find it slightly less conditioning as the BTMS-50.
